Develop adventure attraction as a tourism destination

-What are you going to develop?
To develop Namkheg river rafting

-Where is it located?

Location:

Rafting area is located between kilometers from 45- 53 along highway of number 12,Phitsanulok- Lomsak in Wangthong district- Phitsanulok. It is far from Phitsanulok downtown around 40kms.

2. -What is your objective ?
To analyze basic need of the location element and solving problem by using that element for rafting and develop rafting attraction as a tourism destination in Pitsanulok to be attractive tourist to come to travel.

-What would you like your development project to look like?

A good project that can be published on phitsanulok newspapers and journal magazine. It is useful for the TAT to develop Phitsanulok tourism and Thai Tourism commonly.

3. Why do you select that place to be the target to your develop?

It is very comfortable to travel to Phitsanulok by railway, car and air. Tourists can start from Bangkok and go by car and air to nearby province that has old capital and ancient city in Khamphengphet and Sukhothai province. Phitsanulok province has many ancient buildings, it s advantageous for natural attraction. There is also a beautiful waterfall in Namkheng area such as Sridit Waterfall, Keangsopha waterfall, Poi waterfall and Keangsong waterfall.
Accession to rafting area is more comfortable than other places. Because it has the highway number 12 from Phitsanulok –Lomsak and gets along to the way of water level from 1-5.

Two coast area also have resort, food shops and villages. It is convenient and not really expensive. There is variety of beautiful sceneries along two coasts and located resorts with Keng river such as Saphaiwan, Grand Hotel and Resort, Phanawan, and Warithinan.
From the variety of above elements proved that Namkheng rafting is worth to be case study.

5. How can it be developed?

-The area of upstream in the past is the forest land. When the hill tribes migrated to settle down, it includes doctrine and politic problems and destroys the forest to enrich soil for agriculture, so the forest land is reduced. The land surface was washed out when it is raining. The water in the Kheng river would be cloudy in the raining season but around the late raining season, from October- November, the water would be clear.
- Namkheg Rafting:
The area that can raft to be safe, it starts from Ban Pakyang, Tam bon Saphaiwan to Keangsong – Wangthong district. The distance is around 3kms, and takes you there around 3 hours.
- The starting point has three places .
- The starting point 1 at Saphaiwan Grand Hotel and Resort
- The starting point 2 at Ban Tha Kham.
- The starting point 3 at Phanawan Resort Port.
